HOW DO I ACCESS EVOUCHER WEBSITE?

The link for eVoucher is https://evadweb.ev.uscourts.gov/CJA_ohn_prod/CJAeVoucher/.  Be sure to bookmark the link.  You can also access eVoucher from the Court’s website at http://www.ohnd.uscourts.gov/home/attorney-information/appointment-of-counsel-cja/.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER?

The Panel Attorney is responsible for maintaining current contact information in eVoucher.  You must still submit a new W-9 and CJA Payee Registration form to OHNDdb_CJA@ohnd.uscourts.gov.  Checks are mailed to the address in your profile and the Court will use the first phone number in your Profile to contact you for an appointment.  These updates can be made in the Profile section of the Landing Page by clicking on “My Profile”.

I WANT THE CLERK'S OFFICE TO CALL MY CELL PHONE FIRST.  HOW DO I MAKE THIS CHANGE?

You can edit you profile’s phone number.  The system pulls the phone number out of the “phone” field rather than the “cell phone” field.  Make sure you put the phone number you want to be called first in the “phone” field.

I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO LOGIN MULTIPLE TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESS.  THEN I ASKED FOR A NEW PASSWORD USING "FORGOT PASSWORD" AND I STILL CAN'T LOGIN.

Your user account will be locked after three failed login attempts.  Please contact the Clerk’s Office at OHNDdb_CJA@ohnd.uscourts.gov for assistance.

HOW DO I FIX A "SERVICE/EXPENSE DATES ARE NOT WITHIN THE VOUCHER START AND END DATES" ERROR MESSAGE WHEN TRYING TO SUBMIT A CJA20 PAYMENT VOUCHER?

Go to the “Claims Status” tab and enter the start and end dates of the service you entered.  Be sure to click on save and then do your Confirmation.

WHERE DO I INCLUDE TIME FOR MY LAW PARTNER OR ASSOCIATE WORKING ON A CASE?

Services performed by an associate or partner should be included on your CJA20 voucher.  Please use the public notes section on the confirmation tab to notify the Court that an associate or partner is included in the billing.  Be sure to add the billing rate for each individual.  Clerk’s Office staff will adjust the rate for each item attributed to an associate or partner (if that work was billed at a different rate than the statutory rate).  Upload any documentation if a formal request was made to the Court.  When associates or partners incur expenses also notate their initials in the description field.

I WAS JUST APPOINTED TO A CASE BUT DO NOT SEE IT IN EVOUCHER YET, WHO DO I CALL?

The courtroom deputy will enter the appointment in CJA eVoucher, which is checked daily by the CJA Team.  But, if you ever find that you receive an appointment and a few days later it was not entered in eVoucher, please email OHNDdb_CJA@ohnd.uscourts.gov.

I SUBMITTED A VOUCHER AND NOW IT APPEARS HIGHLIGHTED IN MY ACTIVE VOUCHERS, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

An entry that looks highlighted in gold means that the voucher has been rejected by the CJA court staff.  Counsel should receive an email from the system with an explanation.  The reason for rejection can also be found in the Notes section of the Confirmation page.

CAN I PRINT MY VOUCHERS PRIOR TO SUBMITTING THEM TO THE COURT FOR PAYMENT?

Yes, you can print each page separately.

SINCE MOTIONS FOR INTERIM PAYMENTS ARE SUMBITTED THROUGH CM/ECF, DO I NEED TO ATTACH ANYTHING TO EVOUCHER?

Yes, attach the order.  If it is a non-document, utilize the Notes section in your voucher to identify the interim order was approved with the date of approval.

DO I ENTER A CJA21 FOR INTERPRETERS AND EXPERT SERVICE PROVIDES IN EVOUCHER?

Yes, CJA Panel Attorneys must enter the CJA21 for interpreters and other experts in eVoucher.  The interpreter or other expert must submit an invoice for their services to you, which you will then attach as a document to the CJA21 in eVoucher.

I'M ATTEMPTING TO ADD A CJA21 FOR ONE OF MY EXPERT SERVICE PROVIDERS BUT DO NOT SEE THE REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION THAT I MADE PRIOR TO GOING LIVE ON EVOUCHER.  WHAT SHOULD I DO?

The authorization was received prior to eVoucher.  Email the Court at OHNDdb_CJA@ohnd.uscourts.gov with the motion and we will create the authorization.

CAN EXPERTS CLAIM THEIR TIME IN HUNDREDTHS OF HOURS?

No, expert service providers must claim their time in tenths of hours, just as counsel does.

CAN I USE THE SAME WEBSITE TO ENTER VOUCHERS FOR OTHER DISTRICT AND APPEALS COURTS?

No, each court a unique website address.

WILL MY LOGIN FOR ONE COURT WORK FOR ANOTHER COURT?

No, each District and Appeals Court will provide you with a separate login and password.  You can change your username and password under My Profile.
