Contact With Chambers
Routine non-substantive questions may be asked ex parte of the court's staff, though prior contact with and approval of opposing counsel is preferable.
Requests to hold or set a discovery, scheduling/status, settlement, etc. conference may be by phone or email (with the concurrence of or, if by email, a copy to all counsel). The Judicial Assistant or Courtroom Deputy will respond to such requests, which usually can be accommodated promptly.
Include the case name and number in any communication in writing.
