Waiting Area Instructions

 
 

The U.S. Pretrial Services and Probation Office is a combined unit for the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio. Each division has its own separate waiting room. These instructions should be followed in all waiting areas while visiting any U.S. Pretrial Services and Probation Office located in the Northern District of Ohio. If you are reporting to the Pretrial Services Office located in the Cleveland Court House, and no receptionist, clerk, or officer is available to assist you, please walk down the hallway to the probation office window and the receptionist will assist you in locating your officer.

 

 The following items are prohibited from the U.S. Pretrial Services and Probation Office:


  • Illegal weapons of any kind, (i.e. knife, gun, box cutters, etc.);
  • Any type of explosive or hazardous devices.
  • Cellular telephones or other electronic devices are allowed in the waiting areas, but should be turned off and not used until you exit the court house.
  • Equipment used for employment purposes; and
  • Food and beverages

 

* The Court House Cafe is located on the 7th floor. All food and beverages purchased must be consumed on the 7th floor.

 

** Smoking is only permitted on the 7th floor outside terrace in the areas labeled "smoking area."

 

Please be respectful and courteous while waiting in the reception area. Children should be accompanied by an adult at all time in the waiting area.
