Attorney Admissions Grant Program

Grant Process and Guidelines

Through its Attorney Admissions Fund, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio is delighted to have been able to assist with 32 funding projects for area bar associations and law schools in 2023.

Requests for funding from the Court have increased greatly over the years.

The Court's Attorney Admissions Fund Committee meets quarterly following the application deadline, at which time grant applications are reviewed and recommendations are made to the full Court for approval.

It is strongly encouraged that your organization’s application be submitted by December 20, 2023, for program funding requests for the entire calendar year. Should a program need arise that was not anticipated, applications should be submitted no later than three months prior to the date of the event for which funding is sought.

The Court asks that requests focus on the purpose of the grant as outlined in the Court’s Notice and Grant Application.

While the Court has been fortunate to be able to satisfy many requests in past years, with interest rates continuing to be negligible, available funds continue to be limited. Because the Court receives requests that exceed available funds, your effort to only submit requests for events that accomplish the purpose for which these funds are permitted – namely, to benefit the bench and bar – is greatly appreciated.
