"The Ethys" The Humorist - Sean Carter

In this Oscar-themed presentation, the speaker will present “awards” for the best (or rather, worst) ethics violations of 2018. In doing so, he will recap the facts of each disciplinary action, the ethics rules violated and the sanction imposed against the attorney. More importantly, he will explain how to avoid similar violations in the conduct of our legal practices. 1:30pm-3:30pm 2 CLE Credit (satisfies ethics, substance abuse, professionalism)

"Returning Civility and Rational Debate to our Political Dialogue" The Political Guys Live Podcast

Political scientist Michael Baranowski and attorney Jay Carson launched their podcast "The Politics Guys" in 2016 with the goals of elevating political and policy discussions, changing the dynamic in political discourse from trying to win an argument to trying to have a conversation, and engaging interesting discussions with academics, journalists and policy makers. Mike and Jay will be presenting a live recording of the show today focusing on the judicial confirmation process and how it might be improved, proposed legislative reforms to the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court’s 2019 term and its impact on administrative law, and fielding audience questions. 3:45pm-4:45pm 1 CLE Credit
