On Monday, December 12, 2022, the Federal Bar Association Northern District of Ohio Chapter is hosting Speaking the Truth to Power: Examining Professional Responsibility Through the Lens of the Military Legal Advisor (2.5 Professionalism CLE Credits).

Seminar Overview

This seminar will examine professional responsibility topics using the experiences of senior military legal advisors to highlight various ethical dilemmas they have encountered during their careers, how they were resolved, what they learned, and how the solutions and lessons learned could apply in civilian practice.  Our panelists are all retired General Officers and Judge Advocates from the United States Army and United States Marine Corps respectively.  The primary professional rules to be covered during this program are:

Rule 1.13: Organization as a Client
Rule 1.2: Scope of Representation 
Rule 2.1: Advisor                           
Rule 3.3: Candor Toward the Tribunal
Rule 3.8: Special Responsibilities of a Prosecutor
Rule 8: Managing the Integrity of the Profession
